Welcome 2008 South Carolina CCCCD Master Certified Trainers!

Congratulations on being the first to complete the certification process for South Carolina's Center for Child Care Career Development! You are now a Master Certified Trainer (MCT) - with all the rights and privileges (and work!) that goes with it.

This is your blog - one of the many ways you can keep in touch with each other. Post comments here and check back periodically to see what comments others have posted. I'll check back too.

It was an honor and a hoot hanging out with you - and laughing and learning together - for three days! On with the learning - and remember, you can never get it done and you'll never get it wrong!

Cheers to YOU! Sharon

The training was so exciting and I feel that I have made friendships that will help me get through the tough times of training.
One thing I have found helpful is a little timer that reminds me cut off the activities. (you know one of those small hour glass looking things-no noise so it doesn't bother anyone else)
Send in my first new training agenda, felt strange to send in only two pages. Wish me luck!!
Love to all!!
Happy Training!

Hi, Omerea! Thanks for the "timer tip" - very helpful. And glad to know the MCT friendships will be a network you can call on. AND - what a "timely" gift from CCCCD to now require only two pages - yay! Keep shining, m'dear! Sharon

Hello Sharon,
I am so sorry that I am just getting around to writing you. I hit the floor running after returning to work. As always, I love learning new information and meeting people. I had a blast at the training and I am still pumped when it comes to creating lessons and workshops that motivate and hopefully shift paradigms.
I am on SPring Break at the moment and I have a long list of things to accomplish with revamping my power points at the top of the list.
You would be proud that I am using the terms I learned in my discussions with those who want workshops. I am so pumped! I loved the three days and I especially enjoyed meeting you. I hope you had a great time with your friends.
Anyway, I will be in touch after I work on my plans for several trainings I am preparing for.

Happy Spring, Crystal! Not to worry - we are all very busy. I'm glad that you've found the training ideas useful, and will look forward to your sharing some of your "best practices" with us on this blog - when you get a free :-) moment in the future. Meanwhile, enjoy your journey - and let us know how your Powerpoint slides turn out! Carry on! Sharon

PS. My friends and I had a lovely time hanging out in Columbia that weekend following the training - treated ourselves to two (!) movies at a local theater - and shopping, of course!

As I was working on a training agenda today, I thought of a variation to Grab the Spoon. Use the game of Jacks. The number of jacks you scoop up are the number of key points or definitions, etc that the group has to give.
Hope this finds everyone happy and healthy!!

Sharon,
I loved the three days of training we had with you in Columbia. I had attended a different training in the past with you as the trainer so I knew I was in for more great learning opportunities. Soon after I came back home to Greenville, SC, I wrote a new training and used a pair share connecting activity, followed by small group "Place Your Order" then small group "Take a Guess", a mini-lecture, then had groups make a poster for a review activity. Later I included sticker dot marking, graphic organizers, mark-ups, small group discussions, a sorting activity, then brainstorms. The end review is a "Myth/Fact" card sorting done in small groups.
I have gotten so many compliments and great feedback on this training. The participants say that they learned so much and had fun learning it.
Thanks for training me!! I learned and am applying so much of your training strategies.
